Muhammad was born in Los Angeles, CA but grew up in Amman, Jordan until he independently migrated back to Southern California at the age of seventeen. As a student, he held numerous jobs most notably at At&t starting in sales then manager in the retail telecommunication environment for about seven years.
He earned his Bachelor's degree in Accounting from California State University, Fullerton in May 2010. He then obtained his CPA license in 2013 from the California Board of Accountancy and his license remained active ever since. Early 2012, Muhammad moved from Southern California to the Houston, TX area and began his career as a tax professional.
He first joined the Board of Equalization then the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration and gained extensive experience in conducting government Indirect Tax audits (Sales & Use Taxes). At both agencies, Muhammad excelled the auditor ranks and currently serves as a Business Tax Specialist.
Muhammad also acquired a wealth of knowledge in the Direct Tax field (State & Federal Income Taxes) working seasonally as a tax preparer for the past decade or so both independently and with Intuit (TurboTax) for the past four years.
While pursuing his Bachelor's degree, Muhammad served as the Vice President for the Middle Eastern Student Society (MESS) and as Public Relations/Event Coordinator for the Muslim Student Association (MSA) working hand in hand with students and community members and leaders to plan, organize, schedule guest speakers and fundraise mainly events that bring about awareness about the Palestinian occupation and Islamophobia.
Muhammad also joined the Jordanian American Society of Houston (JASH) in 2022 and served in the Public Relations committee until the newly elected president in 2024 appointed Muhammad as the treasurer.
Lastly, Muhammad is proud to be married to his beloved wife Maya since 2011 and to be a father of two (Osama and Laya). He enjoys attending family gatherings and community events, participating and volunteering at the Boy's Scout events and exploring new ways to be useful for the Muslim, Arab and Jordanian communities.
